How much memory does the shuffle have these days, is it still only 1
gig?

Hi Richard,
This is only from memory, but I think you set your shuffle as
a mass storage device under your iPod preferences in iTunes
with your shuffle connected. Command+comma
brings up the Preferences menu and Command+2 brings up the
iPod pane. Checking the (5th?) last check box on that pane enables
the Shuffle for disk use and allows you to treat it as a mass
storage device. There's also a slider that you interact with
to choose how much of the shuffle to allocate for data.
I would guess you'd shift it from the default setting of all of
the space for iTunes to use for songs to all of the space to be
used for disk data if you are using the iPod shuffle database
builder. After that, you should be able to access the shuffle
from finder like any other disk device.
Maybe Scott or someone else who has a device on hand can give
you a better answer. Hope this helps.
