I don't know if there's an easier method, but I always move to the  
url I want to go to, command-c to copy it, then close the bookmark  
menu, then command-l and command-v to paste in the bookmarked url.   
It works for me, if it is a bit keystroke intensive.  You may be able  
to mouse click on the link, I've not tried that, but this method  
works for me, so I'm not really complaining.
