Well, your messages have at least prompted me to take a closer look
at what pops up when I press ctrl-f8, a complete menu status
structure, how nice so thanks for all that.

am running off of battery power when I can clearly tell that the
adaptor is plugged in, the light is on. So, I can tell that it is
