Just for those who aren't aware of it, any time you've got a text box where the text changes, such a in the timer in the softcon dvd player, the download progress in safari, and yes, even the time display in quicktime, you'll get a clicking sound. This is to let you know the field text has changed. If you are downloading a large file, this is a nice indication that your file is still on the way, and not locked up. You can use the clicking sound also on timers to keep track of how long is left for a selection. I.E. in the softcon dvd player, some selections that are extras on the disc are very short. If you have the display set to tell you how long is left, you can count the clicks until there's only a couple of seconds left, then arrow up to go to the next selection. I find the clicks very useful, though I agree, in quicktime perhaps it's not strictly necessary, but all you need do is move the vo cursor off the time field and that problem goes away. I tend to rest it on the fast forward button, so I can skip over parts quickly that aren't of interest, and there is no clicking when I do this. Just thought this may be of use to some who hadn't figured out what the clicking sound was.
