RcDefault app is a preferences pane that allows you to change the default applications for opening files with any extension that is registered on the mac. It can also be used to change your default web browser, default mail program, and loads of other stuff. It gets installed as an entry in the system prefs application, and when you bring it up, it has 7 tabs, eah one for different stuff, file extensions, file types, mime types, and so on. It's pretty thorough, and allows you to control nearly everything your mac does when it encounters a file or program. I'd nominate it for best app of the year if I ever got around to it, and knew where to send the nomination. *grin*
