I assume you did this with the Mac? I helped someone and something went horribly wrong despite the fact we followed the directions very carefully. I was successful in doing this, but decided I didn't like Rockbox enough on the Ipod to keep it. Its nice, but I felt the interface was a little difficult as far as at random points it would start babbling and scream in pain. Overall its quite an accomplishment the team has pulled off in porting this and the Ipod is certainly a good candidate for Rockbox, but I hope in the future Apple will really make an accessible Ipod.

I have successfully loaded rockbox on two new ipod video 30gb, one for
my wife and one for myself.

It works pretty well for the most part.

I over the next fiew days will compile some information on it from a
blind user's perspective.

I also have begun learning the rockbox programming code  structure,
and such.  So hopefully I will be able to contribute to rockbox on
behalf of the blind community.
