Apple has this weird plan with Nike to integrate running shoes into an audible interface using the Nano. Naturally that is a text to speech interface. I am afraid I think this is all the TTS Apple is interested in for now. Even is works while walking without the screen, I bet anything the required software is not accessible. Cheap price, $30, makes it a lot less money than a talking pedometer. One more missed opportunity to make something accessible. http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/
