That's good, I'm glad my podcast got you interested. I think the best way to learn about something new like this is via a podcast. You get real-time exposure to the product, service, etc. Of course its not a sales pitch either, I'm just finding this a way to point out that there is something other than windows and for me its better. Now as far as Fire Fox, not yet, but there is someone out there working on that. I think you'll find Safari to handle most your browsing needs. I really am going to do more podcasts on the Mac covering different things, I just need to get a little time to do this and get my setup a bit more fine tuned for the work.

First let me clearify I am not a current MAC user but seriously thinking after Leopard is released. i have learned a lot monitoring this list.

I use Firefox. I also convert the bookshare books to htm. I assume this is an option in the MAC version. You may notice there is an xml version as well which may work for you.

By the way it was your podcast to blind cool tech that peak my interest in the MAC.

Scott as I understand it the files you mention are for bookshares own reader. I delete them and use my brouser instead.

Subject: smil files bogging down Finder

Folks,

I'm curious, I have some smil files which are a part of Daisy books I've downloaded from Bookshare. When I cursor on to these files, it causes Finder to bog baddly and it takes a really long time for the system to settle enough to do anything. Is there something I can do to prevent Finder from doing whatever its trying to do with these files? I get the impression that Finder thinks these are some type of media file and it can't handle them.
Any advice appreciated.

Scott
