An ibook is a G4 notebook machine and has just come off sale in Australia at least to be replaced by the Macbook so if you're just looking for a nice notebook at considerably less cost than a Macbook then talk to Apple or have a look around on the second-hand market, ebay etc and see what savings you can make on an Ibook, I understand that the new Macbook is slightly thinner in size but the demensions are roughly the same.. Yes, the Macbook has more available to the user such as audio digital in and out and a camera, the Ibook doesn't have these things and I think the Macbook has a Giganet port whereas the Ibook only has a 100MBPS ethernet port.

The Ibook is not an intel machine meaning that it cannot run Windows but it is compatible with Os10 for the most part and it seems to do everything I've ever asked of it up till now including word processing, playing MP3 files etc, the VoiceOver access and response is excellent.

Hi Dane

In addition to what Jerry mentioned about the "Enter" key and the "Return" key on the Mac:

In some Spreadsheet apps the "Return" key will confirm the entry and move you down one cell whereas the "Enter" key will simply confirm the entry and leave you in the same cell.

In some Word processors, the "Enter" key when pressed will insert a page break in contrast to what the "return" key does.

another thing that may be of interest to you is the ability to have the number pad, Page UP/down, Home/end and Insert/Del keys by pressing cmd+f6 on your laptop. Press the cmd+f6 first then turn Keyboard Practice on and see what you find on the right hand side of your keyboard.

Not sure if this is new information to you but thought it worth the note.
