Hi, I have come up with something for this that is doable but not perfect by any means:
Remembering these navigation options: VO keys+shift+1 will mark a spot in textEdit and VO keys+1 will take you to your marked spot. VO keys+shift+home will take you to the beginning of the file and VO keys+shift+end will take you to the end. VO keys+shift+Page down will take you to the next paragraph and VO keys+shift+page up will take you to the previous one. 1. Mark the spot you wish using the command above. 2. Navigate/read to the place where you'd like to copy to. 3. Move your mouse to the end of the text you wish to copy using VO keys+cmd+f5 or if tracking is already on it will already be there. 4. Turn off Cursor tracking using VO keys+shift+f3. 5. Jump to your "Marked" spot using key combination above. 6. Bring your mouse to that "Marked" spot using VO keys+cmd+f5. 7. Using the actual physical mouse, hold down the shift key and then click the physical mouse. This will highlight from the spot where the cursor used to be at the end of the text to the marked spot. One thing to note is that in that moving mouse to the VO cursor using VO keys+cmd+f5, VO does not always move it exactly to the character you'd like so you may miss a character or two when doing this. It does work though but it is questionable whether it is more manageable than going line by line. I guess if you got practiced at it, it may become easier for you. Give it a try. Hopefully, I remembered to explain everything correctly. Later... Tim Kilburn FACTS Department Head Father Mercredi Community High School Fort McMurray, AB Canada (780) 799-5725
