I think the idea of having virus checkers for the Mac currently is that they will help scan files and media for virus's that will affect PC systems. Probably for house holds who have apple and windows computers. Windows Virus's can happily travel inside files and archives on the Mac they just can't run so will only be triggered once they arrive on a PC.
