Hmmm, for me a stream in vlc will sound choppy sometimes for a few
seconds when it first starts up but then it smooths out almost
immediately at least on the mac. Interestingly I've had some
choppiness problems sometimes when I've used VLC on linux; haven't
used it much though. I can't offhand think of a setting that would
help but will post if anything comes to mind. Come to think of it, it
seems to me that there might be something about this in the faq or
readme. Yes, if you go to the Documenttion section at
www.videolan.org the user's guide is available in several formats.
there's a section on how to access various streams and it talks about
trying to increase the read buffer in the open network dialog box.
Btw there's also documentation for using VLC as a streaming server.
