This is already done.
Go to http://www.softcon.com/mac.
There you will find several scripts I've already written to give time/
date/both. Download those, get the spark program (linked to from the
programs accessible with voiceover page) http://www.softcon.com/mac/
voiceoversoftware.html
Then you can put the scripts into spark, and assign hot keys to
them. I.E. I use comand-f16 to speak the time, and shift-F16 to
speak the date. I don't use the say both script, it's there for
those who might want the functionality.
And, I just looked at my page, and it looks like I need to fix some
of the html code on it. It's misbehaving. *growl*

I would like to be able to build a frame around the clock and
calendar so tht I can create a shortcut that I can use to get time
and date at random. Is there a way to do this with VO? Is this
done similar to Windows? Step-by-step instructions would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
