It was an extra NIC (network Interface Card) not MIK short for  
microphone.
But the question is still a good one. why no keyboard?
Of course, I have a couple around here somewhere, though if they're  
in storage, I can't get at them, since our storage unit is packed to  
the rafters now after we consolidated two units into one to save some  
storage fees. <sigh>
