Hello everyone,
I use several different languages and find it more practical to
change the keyboard layout to suit the language rather than having to
use deadkeys for accents.
To add new keyboard layouts to your menus:
Go to the International pane of System Preferences, select the third
tab (Input Menus), then interact with the table and select the
languages you want. French is row 64, German row 66 and Spanish row 106.
These languages will then appear as options in the menus.
Unfortunately, keyboard practice does not recognise alternative
keyboard layouts so you have to put keyboard echo to every character
to learn the new layout.
