The info on the site you are seeing about speech patents for the iPod is correct. These were filed months ago actually. They may be fishing by saying the speech features will be part of the sixth generation of the iPod but the speech info itself is very true. Its funny to me though that this news came out back in March and its just now making it to some sites. Like I said though, you can use Rockbox and have speech right now. I've played with an iPod Nano that was totally accessible with Rockbox on it and its great.

I hope you are right, I just don't have any reason to believe it.
Have you found that Mac News World site to be credible?   I never
heard of them before and it seems to me to be mostly advertising.
Plus, the article is completely unattributed.  They don't even cite
anonymous insiders.  I think they are fishing, just like all the other
sites quoting that ScotsMan article.
