Um. I actually use control option m to get to the menu bar all the time. Its a lot easier than having to take my hands off the control ption keys to get to the menu. There are lots of different ways of doing things in the mac and to say one iis better than another is personaly preference. I'm sure apple has their reasons for making it so, and I'm sure adding control ooption m to activate the menu bar did not detract that much from development. Also the only way you can access the status menu is to press control option m twice. I use it, and for me its more cconvinient than control f2 which is awkward to press as my macbook keyboard has only one control key.

Just on an aside, the one thing I think Apple should've done, and may wish to pursue in future versions of VO, is limiting the overlap. The VO+M command is redundent, as the OS already provides a combination for this function that behaves exactly the same.

When I refer to vo space, I'm talking about the regular mouse click
*always* used when you want to click the mouse button. command- option- space. This will always launch any application, or if clicked on a
file, will load the application associated with that file. Thus you
can vo-space on a pdf file, and preview will load with your document
in it.
Most things can be done via menus as well, but the vo-M key isn't
clearly defined as the menu option in most of the documentation I've
seen.
It's mentioned sure, but it doesn't make it clear how important this
combination can be.
And, as I mentioned, calendar and especially address book are
accessible, but not with the knowledge you'll get from just a couple
hours of fiddling with vo, even if you do read all the docs first.
Interacting with fields, and figuring out just what and how to
interact with things isn't a beginner type thing. But then again,
neither is macros in jaws, so there's always more to learn.
I had no problem with the review per se, just some of the details.
And as I mentioned, most of the details are things most beginners
wouldn't know with the exception of the mouse click. I'm surprised
that one slipped by, but there's a lot of folks on this list that
have been using vo for quite some time that still use the command-o
instead of clicking on the item, so that's not unusual either.
