Personally I haven't a problem with it. I guess its more the quality
of the sound to begin with. I do not recall the exact specs on bit
rate if there is a limit etc. I suspect not and it would play cd
audio for example. I do know if you have a digital input on your
sound sysem, it will take advantage of that. Hmmm, reminds me I need
to see if I can find one of those digital cables. In any case, I have
been quite pleased with mine. Matter of fact was thinking about
getting another to keep handy to take music etc. outside or hell if
you travel, you could even use it in an application while on
vaccation as well. Imagine having your music playing while you lie
on the beach. Ok well getting far afield, but you get the idea. grin
WOw a battery powered version would be neat just for that reason, oh
the possibilities. Think I'll suggest that to Apple.

Very good and what's the sound quality like out of the Airport
Extreme box? This may be exactly what I've been looking for.

Hi dane,
Yes you can have both Wireless units working in the same building.
You'll have to set up the Airport as a separate network with a
different cchannel of broadcast and no need to have it do DHCP
serving. I've tried using my NetGear and Airport in tandom but it
doesn't appear to work as it would if you had two Airport units.
