MLB is being a royal pain!!! The problem is with all macs except those
using the flip4mac intel beta. It happened about July4-5 to most of us
and coincidentally was about the time of the 10.4.7 +quicktime upgrade,
but on the formu where we've been discussing this we have somebody who
has worked for apple and he did a totally new install with 10.4.6 and the
old quicktime and that doesn't work, so we are all pretty sure MLB messed
something up. MLB has known about this since it ahppened; lots of people
have complained and what they tell you just depend on who you get when
you finally get through to them. the reason I know all this is that I did
a google search and found a discussion/thread about this on the safari
forum at

and I joined the forum so I could get involved. I haven't checked the
latest posts; I get an email telling me when there's a new post but I
haven't gone and read the latest ones. I have found a workaround meantime
which I also posted on the forum; if you reinstall windows Media Player
and uncheck the "use flip4mac finternet plugin "in the flip prefs, using
shiira or safari you can access the games with windows media player. It's
buggy though; sometimes I've had to force quit safari or shiira when they
went busy and failed to load the game.; also it sometimes seems to help
if you empty the browser cache (see the menu for whichever browser you
are using) before proceeding. Sometimes, I had to remove both the windows
media application and the internet plugin in /Library/Internet
plugins/windows Media Plugin and reinstall so I just have the installer
app sitting in my finder ready to use. today I've been able to switch
games once without having to go through any of these gyrations so I
wonder if they finally fixed it. A lot of Mac users are really mad at
MLB!!! Don't even get me started about sometimes waiting an hour just to
talk to somebody who knows nothing about the Mac!!! That's why I did a
google search for problems with Flip4mac and MLB; I had already tried
reinstalling flip and was on the verge of doing an "archive and install";
glad I found out it wasn't just my problem!!
