It is possible to make a widget accessible. The apple store widget works perfectly, as does the tv widget, though you can't see the names of the channels, because they're not labeled, but a vo-h tells you the link it's going to. I've run across a few widgets that worked, but most don't. I've not tried creating a widget myself, but perhaps it's worth a try.
And, btw, I'm on an intel-based mini now.
We bought it for our 4-year old son, but the intel tiger doesn't seem to have the classic mode built-in like tiger on the ppc mini does, so I had to switch with him. <sigh> Now I need to reupgrade the memory, and get another external disk to make up for the 40GB loss I suffered as a result of the switch. It's the low-end mini though, so it's only a 1.83 GHZ processor, but it's faster than my old 1.42GHZ processor in the other one. It seems to work fairly well though moving all my stuff from the other system was a bit tricky, since I had to reinstall tiger on it (Logan doesn't need a server) and I don't (yet) have the server version of tiger for intel.
