I've never found an ftp client that was accessible which contained a  
gui on it.  This includes under windows, but the ftp client I use  
when I need more features than the stock ftp that ships with OS X is  
ncftpd available (of course) at http://www.ncftp.com.
It's a nice client, but as with everything else in terminal on OS X,  
it doesn't really talk automatically, but you already knew that. :)
