Tim, thank you for the excellent and extensive response. Hope this message isn't repeated, I sent one reply, but forgot to hit delete to remove the great work you sent along so it wouldn't wind up being to large a message. In any case, I understand and don't know why turning off cursor tracking didn't occur to me. I can see how VO would jerk focus away and that is no fault of VO, but is what you'd expect. I think if Apple had made this a table of sorts it would have been better. Btw, the simple FInder is a bummer in any case, it cuases problems for VO. I had to get my wife to click on the desktop just to get VO to speak. Seems despite the fact VO was running, made little difference and I suspect there was some odd focus issue going on. I wanted to report the problem to Apple, but had no idea hwo to explain it so I think I did send in something, but don't recall getting a note back. I again wasn't clear if it was a focus issue or not, but it was a drag in any event.

Thank you again, the info was incredibly detailed and explained exactly what I needed to know. I'll give it a whirl and see how things go, I suspect just fine.
