On the PC side there is a program called sound taxi this program will
remove the DRM and convert to mp3.

Jane, if you ever find such a program that will convert wma
directly to something else, thousands of folks would love to know
about it. At present, the *only* way to do this is with a program
like audio hijack. Play the wma file in ms player (or flip for
mac) and just capture the output. However, if your wma file is
protected with the latest version of microsoft's drm scheme, it's
not playable on the mac, end of story.
Ms has said they will not update the player for the mac, and flip
for mac can't handle encrypted content, so basically ms has said
mac users are S.O.L. and quite frankly, I find this completely
unacceptable, and have my made my objections very clear to ms via
email. Of course, it received no response (I don't believe I've
ever received a reply to any email I've ever sent to them) but
perhaps if others complain too, and enough folks complain, then
they just might get off their lazy asses and do something about it.
Not a very useful approach if they're trying to become the prefered
format now is it?
