Hi Cheryl and all,
I don't think anyone would disagree that VO improvements and fixes are a
higher priority, but I for one am glad to see advancements being made in
the TTS engine as well. TTS voices have, to a certain degree, been
pretty stagnant over the past 20 years. Look at how many people are
still using DEC-Talk, which is an old, outdated, and terrible sounding
voice IMO. If we can get highly improved voices without sacrificing
performance, that's very exciting to me.

Not at all meaning to be a wet blanket, but let's remember it wasn't
the voices that were our main concern for vo improvement. I'm more
interested in getting the keyboard and vo and mouse cursors/focuses to
work properly, taking care of the busy signal problems, making more
apps accessible, etc. than in a new voice. I do think these issues are
being worked on, so not at all being negative: just wanted to
reiterate what the main issues are as far as I'm concerned.
