As I said, I know it's necessary, but in general, the more professional the reader, the less breath you hear while they're reading. I don't know how the recording studios handle it, but I do know there are readers I never hear take a breath, and others you hear everytime they swallow. I'm sure some of it is the equipment used, and some of it will be the reader, and still part of it will be the physical design of the recording studio. If you're lips are a fraction of an inch from the mike, you're going to hear a lot more, but if you're sitting a foot or two away, that obviously won't be the case. It just irritates me, that's all.
