Hi Harry,

What zip utility does mac use and what types of files will it unzip?

The Mac will unzip a .zip file directly from the Finder. Simply double-click on it and it will unzip. There is also the ability to zip things from the Finder as well. The Finder is the app that handles everything to do with your desktop, accessing network and other ejectable volumes and much more. There are also .dmg files which are "disk images" and thus accessed through the Finder or a built-in utility called "Disk Utility". Stuff-It is also available for the Mac but I find it to be unnecessary in most cases.

Hope this helps.
