Drop boxes are used in network situations where you want others to drop
off files for you without giving them access to your whole computer.
They usually are "Write" access only so those who drop files in it cannot
see the other files in it either. I believe that by default it is set up
so that anyone can drop files in it. As well, there is no need for a
.mac account.
