Hello everyone,
I can't speak too highly of VisioVoice and the Infovox Ivox voices.
For anyone working in more than one language, VisioVoice is really
useful. You can switch voices (and therefore languages) with one
command wile reading a text. VisioVoice will also work in the
background while you use TextEdit, for example, in the foreground.
This is particularly useful for me as a translator. I have the
original text open in VisioVoice and my translation open in TextEdit.
I use VisioVoice as a "human" reader who can go back and repeat the
bits I need to hear again while I polish up my translation.
The facility for exporting text to an audio file is also handy. The
voices are so realistic that it is a pleasure to listen to them.
I can't offer any insights into the use of VisioVoice for people with
some sight as I am totally blind but a friend of mine thinks it's
just what she's been looking for with her level of vision but
requirement for texts to be read rather more efficiently than she is
able to do for herself.
HTH
