Since you're looking at recording and the like, then you'll definitely want to get an intel mini, because the ppc mini does not have a line in (microphone) jack on it. Of course, you can still record on it if you get a usb mike, but it's much nicer to have it built-in. For playing games, well, boot camp is there, so you can install xp on a piece of the intel mac too, so you can play your accessible games there. Although I really like my ppc mini much better than my intel one, (because it's configured better hd/memory wise) I have to admit, the intel processor appears to be the future, so not much new software for the ppc environment will be produced after a while, although the universal format apple has will ensure the ppc lasts much longer than it might otherwise have done so. But, overall, with a mini, it's largely dependent on what you are going to do with it as to which one you get, but the majority of folks (including you it sounds like) will want to get the intel. Those who have a need to run os9 (classic) apps, or don't really care about intel compatibility (maybe for the kids) can certainly get the ppc version, since there will be no loss there. The ppc mini doesn't have wireless by default (or at least it didn't when I bought mine) so that's a consideration too, you'll need to either pay the extra to get one that has it, or buy an after market add-on and install it after the fact if wireless is what you need.
The intel macs all have wireless right out of the box.
