Gabe, Is it for this reason Apple uses the resources of our computer less than Windows, to accomplish similar objectives? For example, I've noticed that in Windows, lot of my memory resources, depending on the program which I'm running requires more of my hard disk, and more times than not, my PC either slows down, or if I've maxed it out, it has to create "virtual memory". I can, for example, look at the System Information, and it will say that I have 512MB RAM, but Windows doesn't recognize the full 512MB. I don't know if my iMac recognizes all the memory I use, plus whatever I have left, but I do have a lot of programs on here that I would have thought required heavy usage of my cashe resources, among other things; but this machine is running without problems, and for me, it's almost like driving a Mercedes Bends, as opposed to a Volchswagen Bug. Hope that makes sense. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
