No, thank goodness. I am glad you appreciate the post as some here might say we are off topic, but I think discussing the larger landscape is quite relevant to VoiceOver. When I first (2004 I think) heard about "Microsoft's New Accessibility Model To Be Offered as Cross-Platform Solution for Industry" I naturally assumed they had something which would be compatible with OS X or Linux. As things developed, and I am sorry I have no citations for this, it slowly became apparent that what Microsoft meant by quote cross platform unquote is a technology they could also release for XP and Windows 2000! At this late date, I can only assume any plans there were to back-port UIA have been abandoned. I could appreciate the irony more if it were not in the context of a convicted monopolist…
