Sorry, this has been sitting in my email all day; I changed windows
to do something else and forgot about it until I saw David's reply.
I use Audible all the time; yes, it uses itunes but there's really no
problem using it. when you download a book it opens automatically in
ituens and starts to play; there's nothing inaccessible about pausing
and playing and quitting itunes. Also, if you want to play a book you
just open it in the finder and itunes opens with it. Keep in mind
that just because itunes has accessibility issues doesn't mean one
can't use it at all. I've searched for items, made playlists (though
that's a bit roundabout) and burned Audible books to audio cd, etc.
How much you can do with iTunes depends partly on how much research
and work you are willing to put into it. Yes, there are some ghings
you can't do; yes, some things you can do require workarounds but
ithere is plenty you can do. If you take a look through the
Macvisionaries archives you'll find a plethora of information about
using iTunes and people have several times also posted here an url
for searching the archives. There are also nstructions on the Audible
website for making sure itunes wil work with your Audible downloadas.
