Sorry, this has been sitting in my email all day; I changed windows to do something else and forgot about it until I saw David's reply.

I use Audible all the time; yes, it uses itunes but there's really no problem using it. when you download a book it opens automatically in ituens and starts to play; there's nothing inaccessible about pausing and playing and quitting itunes. Also, if you want to play a book you just open it in the finder and itunes opens with it. Keep in mind that just because itunes has accessibility issues doesn't mean one can't use it at all. I've searched for items, made playlists (though that's a bit roundabout) and burned Audible books to audio cd, etc. How much you can do with iTunes depends partly on how much research and work you are willing to put into it. Yes, there are some ghings you can't do; yes, some things you can do require workarounds but ithere is plenty you can do. If you take a look through the Macvisionaries archives you'll find a plethora of information about using iTunes and people have several times also posted here an url for searching the archives. There are also nstructions on the Audible website for making sure itunes wil work with your Audible downloadas.
