Yes a blind person should be able to get this running by themselves.
The only part which might require a sighted user is making Preview or
Acrobat Reader the external application. But even if you didn't do
this you could still use it; the default behavior of the program is
to produce the PDF document and then open a Finder window to where
the document was stored so you could just find it in that window and
open it. The files are stored with increasing numbers and each day a
new directory for that day's PDF is made.
Also the PDF will be searchable in Spotlight as well.
