canoscan lide 60 scanner install

Now I'm getting disgusted!!! The only thing that makes me feel better  
is that I did a google search and found reviews saying the install is  
a pain, so it really isn't just me. The comment was to be sure to  
follow the quickstart but I see no quickstart on my cd. Bet it's only  
on paper form and came with the scanner; lot of good that does me. I  
haven't tracked down an install script or any steps for installing,  
and one of the warnings I found says that if you do things in the  
wrong order you end up with a scanner whose buttons don't work--real  
nice!!! Will let you know WHEN??? OI get it installed. If anybody has  
the steps to this or can tell me where to find them, I'll be very  
grateful but it may be already to late and I hear uninstalling can  
also be interesting.
