Need help cant boot from installation DVD

Hi all,
Finally I've got an Imac here!
However, I cant boot from the installation DVD of Tiger. I have insereted the 
DVD and it is displaied in Finder. I turn the mac off after I hold down letter 
c when turning it on. However, the old system still comes up! What might be 
wrong?
