Hi Scott.
The reason i hadn't checked system preferences before is that the computer
wasn't talking so obviously I couldn't just readily check system
preferences. It wasn't until I realized I could trace the steps on my
other computer and then repeat them on the silent one that checking system
preferences became an option. I know that system prefs had been the scene
of the crime--or accident!!1--so it made sense it could be corrected in
system prefs.
