Hi all.
For some reason, my braille files (.brf) are being labeled as mpeg video files. I couldn't find the extention in the default apps application to change it. When I try to change it by changing what can open .brf files in get info, it seems to accept my change but then still shows it in quicktime Player as the default application when I'm done. the brf files aren't locked. I'd like it to at least show up as a text file as some kind. Is there a way to get this to happen?

Secondly, I want to know whether one can safely edit a .brf file in text edit if one makes it plain text. I want to divide a large .brf file and am not sure text edit will represent it as ASCII text. Also, is there somewhere I can find a table of the representations of the braille characters corresponding to the computer keyboard as I'm going to have to search for words and will have to type the representations for contractions correctly in order to search. I might be better off doing this in emacs in the terminal as then I can type the search phrases on the braillelite keyboard, but I wondered if there's a way to do this all with text edit.
Tia.
