Yeah I found that I had to do everything in itunes with control option shift space. It does look like its selecting things but its really not. I spent a long time with itunes before I figured it out.

Of course I can convert from aiff or aac using sox wrap but I thought i'd skip a step by creating audio files from text in visiovoice using iTunes instead of the regular export and making mp3 files. Now i'll see if it worked but at least it looks right when I go into that tab in itunes now.
