Coincidentally, I've just posted, as of a couple of days ago, some
of my experiences with Quicksilver.
I noticed this just after I sent the message! I really should catch
up reading before I post.
<smile> don't worry about it too much.
It's one of those things I can't quite believe doesn't seem all
that widely used in the VO community. As a fellow lifehacker
reader, it was one of the first things I wanted as soon as I switched.
To link this to my other topic, why don't you email the developers
about how useful the program is, and what would make it better *grin*
I don't actually use quIcksilver since I need an on screen keyboard
so graphical stuff like drag and drop is easier for me, but I hear
about it all the time on the LifeHacker site. It could be useful
for switch users also.
Believe it or not, I actually have done this. Quicksilver's a bit of
a weird case, since you don't actually seem to be able to write to
the author directly.
I have, however, posted on the forum a couple of times about
acccessability issues. But as with all these small projects, it's a
matter of priorities. As far as I can tell, the Quicksilver author
does read the forums and knows what's being said, so I just try to
keep myself visible on the forums and post questions occasionally,
pointing out that I'm using VO in most of them. At least that'll keep
reminding him we're out here. More than that I probably can't do, and
a stronger campaign than that probably wouldn't be helpful, anyway.
I've posted to a couple of other authors, notably textmate and bb-
edit about VO, but I haven't gotten much in the way of satisfactory
results in either case with those. <shrug> well at least I tried. if
I never ask, I never get.
