When Leopard comes out, we'll have "Time Machine," which by the sound of
it, will be the coolest system restore feature around.

Does the Mac have a System Resore feature
Reinstall from your OS X disc. There is an option to copy settings.
Run Software Update. You should be good. You find a directory named
"Previous System Folder" which will have everything in case you need
to manually install components that are too new for your install disc
to know what do with. If everything is working fine a month from now,
you can delete this folder and recover a good deal of space.
and does it work a little differently from Windows
Substitute any operation for "it". The answer is: "Yes."
