Jacob, My Mac Mini does the same thing; apparently, this is normal, 
because I haven't been able to get mine to cut down on the treble from 
certain websites.  However, I bought some speakers that are USB-driven, 
and they really seem to do the job so well, I don't notice it too much. 
I would, however, like to get some USB speakers with a wider range of 
frequency response, particularly in the low end because I don't hear my 
low registers very well with my slight hearing loss.  Richie
