Subject: parallels and vmware
Folks,
Got a couple of questions. I recently got an invite to beta test (public
beta) Vmware's Fussion product. Its pretty VO friendly actually, but not
going to read the install screen for a windows installation or Linux for
that matter, but Linux I'm sure could be gotten around if using Speakup,
but I get sidetracked. So, my question is this, has anyone successfully
used Parallels with windows or Linux, were you able to switch from the
virtual machine to the Mac os and back, has anyone tried Vmware and the
same questions apply.
Also, has anyone gotten their Doubletalk external speaking via the usb
serial adapter and if so do you recall the device name I'd need to locate
to echo some text through to the synth? I thought it was something like
/dev/something.cu, but of course I can't recall now.
I didn't see the device listed in /dev, but perhaps its got a different
name or maybe I need to do something to creat it. I see the usb serial
adapter listed as a device, but not sure if its really installed or what.
I got this thing at Best buy and it had no driver disk for it, but that
might not mean it won't work.
Any thoughts on either question appreciated.
Scott
