There was a big bruhaha about this about the time I first joined the list;
as I recall different people had different opinions about top posting but
one person in particular was extremely adamant that top posting should NOT
be allowed. I personally prefer top posting, but whatever one's
preferences, I certainly don't think it should ever be something to cause
a fight. Anyway, that's the history and maybe that's why the topic
resurfaces every once in a while.
