Where did you get the xm usb receiver? I googled it and found a bunch of messages about XM discontinuing the usb receiver. Maybe these pages are out of date and XM brought it back.

Great question!!!

For one thing, i have a lot more control over the computer program than over an xm radio; I can read what the channels are and what's playing and can easily make selections. with the regular radio receiver, all the menus and information messages are in print and in no way accessible.

Secondly, the xm usb receiver costs a lot less than buying the regular receiver equipment, even buying on ebay.

thirdly, my sound on my computer is a lot better than most of the receivers, except maybe the ones you hook up to your stereo.

Fourth, the usb receiver is much smaller and thus takes up less space than a regular unit; also doesn't take up an electrical outlet.
