Thanks for your prompt response.

Do your directions apply to OmneyPage only, or do they also apply to the OmneyPage SE software that comes with canoscan 60?

To create PDF: With Omnipage you can save (export) to 4 PDF formats, 6 HTML, 2 ASCII text, 2 RTF, 1 word and 1 excell format. When the OCR process is done before you save it go to the menu bar and go to the file pull down and choose export. You will then be given a window asking you to select the format etc as well as combining pages into a single document etc. Look in the omnipage help pull down and find the save help info and you will see more details. To OCR PDF, this is simple. Just tell omnipage to load a pdf document and OCR, or if your scanner can generate PDF documents scan in PDF format and then just OCR it. Omnipage doesnt care if it is PDF or TIF. Vickie Weir

This iis of great interest to me, as I, too, have the frequent need to read PDF files that require OCR. At your convenience, would you please describe in detail the steps required to perform OCR on PDF files with OmnePage SE? Thank you.

Just load or scan the next page. When it appears in the window and is ready for OCR you will be asked if this is a continuation or if you want to put the page somewhere else in the document etc. Suggest that you pull down the Omnopage help and read the working with documents. It gives the details there. Vickie Weir

Hi folks,

I can easily turn PDF to TIFF format, as it is an option in the save dialogue, but when I open the TIFF file with Omnipage SE, it only loads the first page.

How can I convert all the pages at once, and how do i get Omnipage to OCR all the pages at once, as the PDF files I am purchasing from www.ebooks.com are all images, which is an inconvenience, but a great source of academic E Books.

Thanks

Best

James
