No, a windows virus can not infect a Mac. Virus are platform
specific. It is possible to write a malicious script for say MS Word
that would work on both but that would not be a virus in that it
could not replicate itself.
While in therory you could write a Mac virus in practice there has
never been one. Writing a Mac virus would be technically more
difficult due to the underling UNIX system of the MacOS. in UNIX
processes must run under a particular user and installing and running
a program can not be done without explicit user permission.
Mac users are safe for the most part. My work requires that I visit
many website and try out may programs. I have never had any kind of
problem on my Mac in the years of doing this.
