gordon,

Manipulating files is ffairly trivial with the ttools in terminal.

Hi David. At present, other than manipulatin files, moving them around and so on, it's difficult to provide specifics. I agree with you that specifics would be helpful. So I'll just hang on I think until the time comes when I get my hands on the MacBook Pro. It would be nice though even now to be able to put away the keyboard for that machine, and navigate Finder etc. via my IMac. As for Freedom, many phone calls were made by me at the time to their UK dealership and to them directly. They promised me at first that they would look into the matter. Then they said that there was nothing they could do since the serial number had been re re-sold. They said they apologised, but that's as far as they were willing to go. I received no recompense, no new SMA, no new serial number. This was after purchasing the Pro upgrade to my initial standard license. I'm sure you and most other people would have been very dissatisfied with that kind of treatment. Were I in the business of selling my products,, I would certainly not treat my customers like that. And frankly I don't see how anybody could call the kind of shrug-off I got anything else but a rip-off. If you have any contacts at Freedom and you want to verify what I'm saying, I'll happily give you the details privately. I can assure you that what I'm telling you is perfectly true. My credibility isn't an issue here. This is just fact, pure and simple.

Hi Gordon,

I am sorry for your loss and it's good to know from whence your statements come. I however have seen a lot of good come out of them and while no company is perfect, I have had problems with dell and other companies as well, I try looking at the benefits that can be found in the products. I can'tt imagine freedom scientific knowingly ripping you off but I also will not impune your credibility.

With your MacBook Pro, you should happily be abble to do as you intend. The concrete list of tassks you wish to perform will help to constructt a method of carrying it out.
