IPTC caption are for JPEG and TIFF file I don't know about GIF if it will work or not. I'll work on writing the caption too.

Please send along your suggestions and I'll make up a GUI for it and release it. It might even be possible to write a caption data back onto a picture that does not have one yet bet that will be in the second release if needed.
