No, I don't agree with Mr. Heim on this issue. Sure, we all need to learn to
use the delete key. But when somebody has been giving multiple chances and
is repeatedly rude, argumentative, and insulting, the burden should no
longer be on others to ignore that person; that person should find he/she is
no longer welcome on the list. The insulting comments from Gabe and some of
the replies were so interwoven into important threads it was difficult to
avoid them. Using the delete key is legitimate when we disagree with
somebody or don't like the content, but with a repeated and markedly
offensive attitude on the part of one person, the burden should not be on
the rest of us to "live and let live".

Why isn't pressing the DEL key a viable solution?I am about as sure as I
can be that it is indeed a viable solution because that is exactly what i
do.
When someone says something to tick you off, you say to yourself "What an
idiot" and press the DEL key. You don't need to respond to the list. And
pressing the DEL key several times won't hurt you.
This guy, Blind Tech, has ticked me off in the past too. But there is no
way that his messages constitute more than a tiny fraction of the messages
on this list. What is there? - like 50 or 60 a day? Do you read every
single one of those? I will bet there are way more messages that just say
"Thanks" than there are messages arguing with Blind Tech.
People get so worked up over this crap. When you let that guy get to you,
that's on you. You've got to learn to look away. Live and let live.

Hi all,
There's been a lot of discussion on this but here's my opinion anyway:
1. Gabe has proven himself to act downright derogatory, vendictive and
been unwilling to listen to suggestions to tone it down. In the posts
leading up to his last ejection, there were numerous comments
encouraging him to stop that behavior with no avail. No-one on this
list should be subjected to the disrespect that was handed out on his
behalf.
2. Simply hitting the "Delete" key when you see Gabe's name is not a
viable solution.
3. There are a great number of members of this list who have
considerable expertise that were slighted by his arrogant and insulting
manner.
4. Gabe does possess a sound knowledge in the MacOS.
With all that said, his attacks were never pointed my direction. I did
not leave the list and then return. This list has been much friendlier
without his personal attacks on individuals.
I do, though, believe in giving people with genuine remorse and an
attitude of improvement the opportunity to redeem themselves. Go ahead
and let him rejoin if you wish, it is your choice. Assign a moderator
if you deem it necessary. I personally feel that it's not. I simply
would allow very little if any latitude when it comes to personal
afronts. His knowledge is welcome, his personal attacks are not.
Just my opinion, thanks for listening eh.
