I've never had to reboot my Mac Mini, nor have I had to shut it down
whenever I have to update my system, because my Alert messages lets me
know that a software update is ready. My iMac, on the other hand, I've
only had to type my user name and password to get back into the main
account, because I lost speech temporarily. I tried every possibility
to figure out what went wrong, and just by chance, I typed in my user
name and password, and VoiceOver began working again. I did that
because I was still getting my Alert messages, but no speech,
otherwise. And since I've never had to do a "warm reset," how would I
go about performing this operation, should that ever have to happen?
